Dr. Julie Kirwan

Dr Julie Kirwan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports & Exercise Science (BSc) from University of Limerick in 2003. She then completed a three year graduate programme earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania while on a soccer scholarship there, graduating in 2007.
Julie began her working career with a main focus on orthopedic physical therapy, referred to in Ireland as musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Julie subsequently completed training in Trigger Point Dry Needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screens (FMS), in addition to manual therapy courses in foot/ankle, knee, shoulder and spinal manipulation. Julie has also worked with hundreds of patients post operatively including patients following Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) repairs/revisions, rotator cuff repairs/revisions and total knee/hip replacements/revisions (TKA/THA).
Julie is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist from the The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).

She attained his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification in 2012.
Julie relocated to Ireland in May of 2015 after 11 years training and working in America. She is a Member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (MISCP) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Julie enjoys running, completing several half marathons, in addition to eight full marathons. She has completed extra training in developing an efficient and healthy running form and enjoys sharing what she has learned everyday in the clinic.
