I first met Bryan following a total knee replacement in 2010. He led me through six weeks of Physical Therapy and rehabilitation. Bryan’s dedication made the process bearable, and at times enjoyable. Most importantly, the outcome was better than I could have hoped for. Bryan’s hard work with me got me back to skiing and bicycling much quicker than expected. His background, training and experience make it easy for me to highly recommend him for PT and rehabilitation following injury or surgery.

I became so impressed during my rehab with Bryan, that I asked him to help me with my personal physical training. That lasted until May of 2015 when he and Julie moved to Ireland. I will miss his professional approach to physical fitness.

I would like to take this opportunity to share my personal experience with Julie Kirwan, DPT. In 2010 I had been through a year of injections for the treatment of excruciating spine-back pain. After little to no relief, my GP referred me for physical therapy. When I first met Julie she walked me through a thorough consultation and screening followed by ultrasound and soft tissue manipulation therapy. Julie also gave me specific exercises to work on at home. After seeing Julie for a few months on a weekly basis, I saw improvement. It was during that time that Julie has investigated the possibility and training for dry needling. During the time Julie was working on her dry needling courses, she continued to encourage me to continue my exercises while building on others that would help me strengthen my back. Julie was very aware of my desire to return to my daily living that would be (mostly) pain free.

Once Julie completed her dry needling courses, she began treating me. We immediately started seeing greater improvement. Within the next 2 years, I was able to return to functions that I had not been able to perform for years. At that point I was able to reduce the amount of treatment to 2 times a month. During the next year, Julie took a level 2 dry needling class which she promptly began using in my treatment. It was not long before I was able to reduce my treatment visits to once a month.

Had it not been for Julie’s encouragement and training to find ways to treat me, her client, so that I could meet my full potential I am confident I would not be working today. Julie stuck with me and new exactly what types of treatment and what pace I needed to work at to see me through this journey. While most providers would have given up on me or referred me elsewhere, Julie perservered to learn about what treatments are effective in order to help her patient meet the dream of a functioning life again.

In closing, I would like to say if you want to work towards a “wellness concept” and are willing to do your part as a patient, Julie is the type of physical therapist you want! I am where I am today because of her outstanding patient care.
